Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Charity Project 2026

Step by Step for Peace X Doctors and Patients Accompany You 2.0

Hospice Service x Cancer Information Network Charity Fund

Hospice has partnered with the Cancer Information Network Charity Foundation to expand its outreach. We sincerely invite entertainers, sports enthusiasts, cancer patients, caregivers, and bereaved families to sign up as charity runners for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Charity Project 2026, taking place on Sunday, January 18, 2020. If you enjoy running and believe in "understanding is the best support," we welcome you to participate in the marathon, half-marathon, and 10km races on our behalf, creating a unique life education experience.

The funds raised from this marathon will be used to support Hospice to provide professional farewell counseling and grief support services to the families of terminally ill patients and the bereaved, helping them to overcome their emotional lows and find the meaning and true meaning of life.

The Cancer Information Network Charity Foundation uses the funds raised to support cancer patients and their development, and to help the public better understand more about cancer.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is the difference between participating in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Charity Project and registering for the race through normal channels?

  • People with disabilities can support charities by making donations.
  • Participants no longer need to draw lots. As long as they meet the entry requirements, they have a great chance of being allocated a place.
  • Participants of the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Charity Project can choose their starting time (limited places in each starting period, first come, first served).
  • The collection time of the runner pack is more flexible. Charity runners can collect their runner packs through their respective charities without having to queue for the public to collect the runner packs (the actual arrangement depends on each charity organization).
  • Individual charities may provide different promotional activities or pre-event training for participants of charity programs.

Q2. Can I enjoy the above benefits if I register for the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Charity Project 2026 through the Cancer Information Network Charity Fund?

Yes, in addition to the above benefits, we can also store small amounts of non-valuable luggage for participants on race day.

Q3. How can I participate in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Charity Project 2026 through the Cancer Information Network Charity Fund?

Starting September 8th, members of the public can donate $3,000 or more to the Cancer Information Network Charity Fund and complete the form to receive a spot in any distance marathon (subject to meeting official registration requirements). Space is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Q4. Can I ask friends to donate to support me in participating in the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Charity Project 2026 through the Cancer Information Network Charity Fund?

Of course, you can, but your spot will only be confirmed if you make a donation. The Cancer Information Network Charity Foundation will soon design a separate promotional image and fundraising website for our Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon Charity Project 2026 participants, allowing them to raise more funds from their friends.

In both 2024 and 2025, I participated in the Cancer Information Network's charity run as a Chinese Medicine practitioner. I understand your struggles! After breakthroughs in clinical practice, education, and research, this year is even more special—not just me, but our entire Chinese Medicine team, the Zonta Club of Eastern District, and the Hospice of Hospice, all joining forces in "Doctor-Patient Run 2.0" and "Starting from Hospice." We will transform every step into a shared strength, running further!

When we learned a family member had end-stage renal disease, our family felt a surge of anxiety, especially when his condition worsened or when we had to make decisions for him. The anxiety grew, fearing that the decision wouldn't be the best for the patient. I'm grateful for the doctors, nurses, nurses, and social workers who accompanied me throughout my journey, patiently explaining the condition and caring for me. I gradually learned about palliative care, and I'm grateful for the support of my family. Gradually, my stress and emotions have eased. Sometimes, I hear that some caregivers are overwhelmed and may not be able to cope. I hope to do my part to support Hospice and stand by our patients and their families.

“Exercise can replace medicine, but no medicine can replace exercise.” - French doctor Tissot.

Hello everyone, I'm Dr. Zhou. In my clinical practice, I often see patients struggling with chronic illnesses, desperate for miracle cures but neglecting their daily routines and exercise. This year, I challenged myself to run a 10-kilometer race for the first time. I hope to set an example and remind everyone: No matter how busy you are, you should always take care of yourself, develop a regular exercise habit, and build a strong body!

The more challenging life is, the more likely you are to overcome the challenges!

I usually do some fitness hiking, but this is my first time running a 10K race. It requires me to strengthen my willpower, endurance, and physical strength. I want to use my feet and actions to let everyone know that doctors' encouragement and support for cancer patients is not limited to the clinic, but can be put into practice. Let us learn together how to persevere and go further!
